Mens Match Report - 28/04/06 Mens Division 1 in the Ian Dewar sponsored league was completed last week with Viking A, already champions, beating BH Pegasus A 6/2 at the Sports Centre, Beechdown A winning at home 9/0 against Andover Sports B and a match played late last month where BH Pegasus A beat Aldermaston 9/0.  Abdul Khan, back to support BH Pegasus, partnered by Jonathan Phillips won the two rubbers recorded by the losers in the match against Viking A.  Tony Coombes/Chris Powell won a maximum for the winners with Tim Cooper/Mike Fidge scoring two rubbers and James Bevis/Richard Whatley supplying the sixth.   The victorious BH Pegasus A side against Aldermaston was Tony Ashworth/Jonathan Phillips, Andy Lang/Dale Turpin and David Burrell/Martin Davey.  Beechdown A’s winning combinations in their win over Andover Sports B were Peter Seward/Neil Marie, Martin Webb/Mark Bayliss and Daniel Sheppard/Ben Cummings.  

Chris Woodgate and Ivor Brojek combined to win their three rubbers for Andover when with only two pairs they lost 5/4 to BH Pegasus C at the Sports Centre in Division 3.  Paul Fletcher/Geoff Lewis scored the other rubber.  James Skilton/John Franklin and Ray Chow/Steve Tribe won one rubber each for the winners.  This result currently leaves Andover level on 77 points with Phoenix A but the former have still two matches to report and should take the division

Mixed Match Report - 28/04/06   Viking Mixed A side managed a 6/3 away win against BH Pegasus A in Division 1.  This leaves them 2 points behind Beechdown A and having already won the Ladies and Mens trophies to take the third they require to beat their rivals by at least 6/3 when the two teams meet in their last match of the season.  Jonathan Phillips/Lesley Acheson won two of the BH Pegasus A rubbers and David Burrell/Kim Street got the third.   Tim Cooper/Alison Crawford won a maximum for Viking a supported by two rubbers from Richard Whatley/Rachel Phillips and one from Tony Coombes/Ruth Seward. 

League Chairman Ruth Cairns partnered by Ian Shoard were the only winners for Viking C in their Division 2 8/1 defeat by visiting LoddonSherpas A who take the second promotion spot.  Richard Burt/Hayley Kopp and Phil Hood/Cheryl Matthews both won maxima for the winners with Ian Young/Stephanie Matthews getting the remaining two.

Waverley B and Aldermaston B fought out a 4/4 draw at John Hunt School in Division 4 with Ian Ahearne/Jo Berry winning two rubbers for the home side complimented by one each from Robert Jackson/Gill Trimmer and Peter Bevell/Heather Mountford.  Graham Page/Phillipa Dines won two rubbers for the visitors with Keith Fleming/Rhian Jenkins and Neil Hince/Hannah Ward getting one each.  

Clubs are reminded that the Hampshire County Annual General Meeting will take place at the Westgate Centre on Wednesday 28^th June and the League Annual General Meeting is at Basingstoke Rugby Club on Tuesday 11^th July.  If any clubs have any matters which they wish to be discussed at the League meeting would they please let the secretary know as soon as possible
