Ladies Match Report - 24/03/06 Viking , leaders of the Ladies 6 division in the Ian Dewar sponsored league dropped vital points when they lost 5/4 to a two pair LoddonSherpas team last week. Stephanie Matthews and Hayley Kopp won their three rubbers for LoddonSherpas with Lynn White/Liz Firth getting the remaining two.  Karen Bayman and Rachel Phillips won the sole Viking rubber.  

Alison Rendall/Averil Mason won the only rubber scored by Phoenix when they went down 5/1 at home to visiting Andover in the Ladies 4 Division.  Sue Clarke and Karen Causley participated in three winning pairings for Andover while Ann Viney and Laura Thomas took part in two each.


Mens Match Report - 24/03/06  The only match reported in the Mens section saw Division 3 leaders, Phoenix A defeat a two pair BH Pegasus C 8/1 at Sherfield School.  Ray Chow and Steve Tribe scored the consolation rubber for the visitors.  Tim Little/Matthew Savastang  and Paul Verling/Paul Nightingale won maxima for the home side complimented by the remaining two rubbers from Matthew Hawkins/Bob Cosgrove.  Phoenix A currently head the table for this division but they will have to watch Andover, a strong side, who have three matches in hand and are only 9 points behind.


Mixed Match Report - 24/03/06  Viking Mixed A beat BH Pegasus B 8/1 in Division 1 to keep up their chase of Beechdown A.  Both James Bevis/Karen Bayman and Tim Cooper/Susie Hubbard won their three rubbers for the winners with Tony Coombes/Ingrid Hart supplying the other two.  Andy Lang and Sue Lorrain won the solitary BH Pegasus B rubber.

St Marys completed their programme of matches in Division 2 with a 7/2 home win against Aldermaston A.  This victory was sufficient to ensure the top position in the table and promotion to division 1 for next season.  Captain, Tony Glinos partnered by Pam Norman won a maximum for them as did Philip Desbois/Andrea Farmer with Andrew Neville/Lyn Glinos obtaining the seventh.  Lawrence Sutton/Julie Ward and David Lowe/Sandra Page each won a rubber for Aldermaston A.  

With BH Pegasus C having already taken top place in the Division 3 table Firefly now take second spot having beaten Beechdown C 5/4 at Winchester Road.  Firefly had only two pairs for this match, Phil/Susan Pike and Steve Webb/Rosemary Pomroy.  The latter pair won three rubbers and Phil and Susan Pike two while Paul Deed/Leanne Francis won the only rubber recorded for the home side.  Waverley A, the only team in the division which can overhaul Firefly have still to play LoddonSherpas B and Beechdown C and must do well in both matches to have any chance. 

Robert Jackson /Gill Trimmer were the only Waverley B pair to win a rubber when their team lost 8/1 to Phoenix A at Sherfield School in Division 4.  Tim Little/Averil mason and Paul Nightingale/Nicola Blake won maxima for the Phoenix side complimented by two rubbers from Matthew Savastang/ Carolyn Neale.  In the same division Rod/Rhian Jenkins, Paul Roper/Pippa Dines and Graham Page/Hannah Ward were the successful Aldermaston B team which defeated a two pair Basing Cavaliers side 9/0 at Aldermaston.  

Andover Sports B continued to dominate Division 5 after a 9/0 victory over visiting LoddonSherpas C.  The home team was Chris Clarke/Val Wheeler, Paul Williams/Liz Jones and Geriant Griffiths/Anita Haskin.
