Restricted Tournament 01/12/05 The entry form for this popular Tournament which will be held at the Basingstoke Sports Centre on Sunday 12th February 2006 may be downloaded from this website. Forms will also be available from club secretaries who should receive them within the next few days. Ladies Match Report
- 01/12/05 Forging ahead with
their programme in the Ladies 6 Division of the Ian Dewar (Castlegate
Investments) sponsored league Viking had their sixth victory, an 8/1 defeat of
Waverley at John Hunt School. Ingrid
Hart/Susie Hubbard and Karen Bayman/Jane Halls both won maxima for Viking
supported by two rubbers from League Chairman, Ruth Cairns and her partner
Emma Day. Caroline Rodbourne and
Sandra Jennings recorded the sole Waverley rubber.
This latest victory leaves Viking well ahead in the table at present
but both Beechdown and last year’s champions, BH Pegasus, could still
possibly overhaul them.
Andover (10) have a two point lead over BH Pegasus (8) in the Ladies 4
Division following a 4/2 away win against them recently. Sue Clarke took part
in three winning rubbers for the visitors, Laura Thompson and Karen Causley
participated in two and Maureen Wishart one to complete the four winning
rubbers. Match Secretary, Lesley Acheson played in two winning rubbers for BH
Pegasus while Jean Deverill and Jenny Skilton each shared in one.
Mens Match Report - 01/12/05 Firefly jumped into second spot in the Mens Division 2 table with an 8/1 home victory over a two pair LoddonSherpas A side for which Matthew Frost and Seth Ball won the only rubber. Phil Pike/Scott Armstead won one rubber for Firefly complimented by two each from Colin Pink/Mick Turrell and Steve Webb/John Weston.
Mixed Match Report

7/2 home victory against Andover Sports A left Beechdown A two points ahead of
Viking A who had a 8/1 win over BH Pegasus B at the top of the Mixed Division
1 table. Brother
and sister Neil Marie and Andrea Hill won their three rubbers for Beechdown A
supported by two each from Mick Cummings/Karen Southwell and Peter
Seward/Madge Cummings.
Shaun McDonald and Liz Roberts scored the two rubbers for the losing
visitors. Andy
Lang/Sue Lorraine won the solitary rubber for BH Pegasus B in their defeat by
Viking A. Tim
Cooper/Susie Hubbard and Scott Wilkins/Karen Bayman supplied three rubbers
each for Viking A with Tony Coombes/Ingrid Hart getting two.
In Division 2, Viking C conceded 9 points when they were unfortunately
unable to field a team to play LoddonSherpas A.
Dale Turpin/Jean Deverill, Alex Groom/Doreen Quilter and Steve
Glover/Jenny Skilton comprised the BH Pegasus C team in Division 3 which
defeated visiting LoddonSherpas B 9/0 to maintain their unbeaten run and
retain top place in the table.
Back into the league after missing a season, Andover Sports B seem set
to take Division 5.
Their team, Graham Woodrow/Anita Haskin, Nick Gladwin/Sue Hartfield and
Chris Clarke/Sue Eves beat a two pair visiting Beechdown D side 9/0.
