Ladies Matches 29/11/07  Having played half their matches in the Ladies Division of 4 BH Pegasus already have a 4 point lead over second placed Andover in the table.  Their latest match resulted in a 5/1 away win against Waverley for whom Jo Berry and Gill Trimmer were the only winners.  Kim Street and Doreen Quilter won all their three rubbers for the winners with Nicky Major and Haylie Fox taking part in two winning rubbers each to complete the scoring.  Andover continued their sequence of drawn matches in the division, this time against Beechdown.  Andrea Hill won the three rubbers in which she took part for Beechdown supported by Leanne Francis in two and Alex Nogdle in one. Louise Phillips and Sue Clarke played in two of the home side’s wining rubbers with Laura Thomas and Karen Causley taking part in the third.


Mens Matches 29/11/07  Tim Cooper/Chris Powell, Graeme Berry/Scott Wilkins and Tony Coombes/Damon Short were the Viking A team which defeated Andover Sports B 9/0 in Mens Division 1 at Everest College.  Andover Sports A won their fourth match in the same division by beating BH Pegasus B at Andover 7/2.  Both Tim Hunt/Geriant Griffiths and Chris Clarke/Peter Cowmeadow recorded trebles for the winners complimented by the seventh rubber from Shaun McDonald/Daniel Pharaoh.  Andy Bosworth/Nick Reid and Kevin Harris/Veera Arunachalam won one rubber for the losers. 

In Division 2, Beechdown A with a 9/0 home victory over Andover are certainly making a big effort to regain their position in Division 1.  Daniel Sheppard/James Bartlett, Mark Bayliss/Simon Johnson and Martin Webb/Tony Walker were the winning team.  A treble from Paul Nightingale/Greg Sudell of Phoenix A was not sufficient to prevent their opponents Firefly from recording a 5/4 victory at Sherfield School.  The fourth rubber for the losers was scored by Jonathan Thomson/Matthew Hawkins.  Steve Webb/John Weston won two of the winner’s rubbers as did Colin Pink/Mick Turrell with the other coming from Phil Pike/Chris Nunne. 

A Beechdown B side comprised of Neil Marie/Mick Cummings, Tim Williams/Tim Jefferies and Keith Dawson/Simon Johnston emulated their A side when beating Phoenix B at Sherfield School in Division 3.  Bob Thirkell and Ben Webb won two rubbers for Alresford wth John Read/Ralph Pointer winning one when their side lost 6/3 to Hurst at the Hurst.  Mark Payne/Duncan Kerry won a maximum for Hurst supported by two rubbers from David Ord/Dave Keep and one from Colin Cresswell/Keith Lawrence.


 Mixed Matches 29/11/07  Andover Sports A in Mixed Division 1 had their first victory in three outings when they beat BH Pegasus B 6/3 at the Basingstoke Sports Centre.  Emerson Cumberbatch playing with Sandra McDonald won a maximum for the winners with Shaun McDonald/Liz Roberts gaining two rubbers and Damien Roberts/Pauline Prior getting one.  Each of the home pairs, Alex Wigmore/Doreen Quilter, Richard O’Kelly/Jenny Skilton and Kevin Harris/Kim Street won one rubber.  

Aldermaston A continued their unbeaten run in Division 3 when, with the aid of maxima from Chris Apsey/Sue Richardson and Glynn Libberton/Sandra Page they beat Phoenix A 7/2 at Sherfield School.  Graham Page and Hannah Ward supplied the seventh rubber for them.  Paul Verling/Alison Rendall and Jon Thomson/Carolyn Neale won a rubber each for the losing home side.  Phil and Sue Pike were the winners of the solitary rubber scored by Firefly when they lost 8/1 to Andover Sports B at Andover.  Chris Clarke/Sue Hartfield and Daniel Pharah/Ellen Dennett scored maxima for the winners with Ian Swatton/Liz Jones obtaining the other two rubbers.  

In a close match in Division 4 Waverley B had their second win when, despite a maximum from the visitor’s Steve Gaunt/Linda Russell they beat Basing Cavaliers 5/4 at Everest College.  Richard James/Kuki Lota and Peter Bevell/Chris Fowler won two rubbers each for the home side supplemented by one from Peter Aling/Heather Mountford.   Andrew Dance and Sheila Weston got the fourth rubber for the losers.
