Ladies Matches 23/11/06 Andover Sports ladies in the Ladies 6 Division came away 7/2 winners over a two pair Viking team at John Hunt School. The winners were forced to concede one rubber to Viking who had Alison Crawford and Jane Halls to thank for winning the other rubber. Sandra McDonald/Pauline Prior won two rubbers for the visitors with Sue Hartfield/Liz Roberts and Val Wheeler/Ellen Dennett supplying one each.

Matches 23/11/06 In
Mens Division 2, Phoenix A got the better of visitors Aldermaston with a 6/3
scoreline at Sherfield School despite the efforts of David Lowe and Stephen
Gaunt who won all three of their rubbers, Each of the home pairs, Jon
Thomson/Greg Sudell, Matthew Hawkins/Peter Bevell and Paul Nightingale/Paul
Verling won two rubbers Andover recorded the same score when
beating Hurst at Andover in the same division. In this match both Geoff
Lewis/Alan Dixon and Dave Sneddon/Mark Holden won maxima for the winners.
David Ord/Mark Payne, Chris Puxley/Duncan Kenny and Dave Keep/Barry Eggington
won one rubber each for Hurst.
In Division 3, LoddonSherpas B with only two pairs lost 9/0 to a Beechdown B
side comprising Chris Meeking/Lee Chojecki, Keith Dawson/Simon Johnston and
Steve Nolan/Tim Jefferies. Alresford suffered two successive away
defeats. The first was way back in October when they lost 6/3 to
Waverley and more recently they went down 5/4 to Whitchurch. Against
Waverley Bob Thirkell and Adrian Tyrell won their three rubbers which they
also did against Whitchurch. The other rubber in the Whitchurch match
was won by Mark Page/Nigel Butcher. Ian Aherne/Colin Huntley, Adam
Bridgen/Philip Quinn and Rob Jackson/Milo Rapacioli each won two rubbers in
the victory over Alresford. Stuart Gordon/Dave Cooley and Peter
Askew/Sean Mallard won one rubber each in the 5/4 victory against Alresford
who had only two pairs. Two rubbers each from Adam Bridgen/Colin Huntley and Rob
Jackson/Milo Rapacioli enabled Waverley to draw 4/4 with BH Pegasus C.
John Franklin/Veera Arunchalam won their three rubbers for BH Pegasus C
supported by one from James Skilton/Mark Chappell. Later James Skilton/Mark
Chappell, Ray Chow/Steve Tribe and John Franklin/Verra Arunachalam made up the
BH Pegasus C team which beat visiting Phoenix B 9/0.
Mixed Matches 23/11/06 With their third successive victory in Mixed Division 1 St Marys, this time over Andover Sports A at Andover, have taken an early lead in the table. Damien Roberts and Pauline Prior won the sole home rubber in this encounter with Mark Ferguson/Margaret Mason and George Jones/Andrea Farmer both winning maxima for the winners supported by two rubbers from Tony Glinos/Pam Norman. Andrew Hart/Hayley McCall and Steve Glover/Jean Deverill won their three rubbers for BH Pegasus C in a Division 2 7/2 victory over Firefly at the Sports Centre. Alex Groom and Jenny Skilton won the other rubber. Steve Webb/Rosemarie Pomroy and Phil/Sue Pike both won one rubber for the losing visitors. Viking C now lead Division 3 following two successive victories. The first of these was away to previously unbeaten Waverley A whom they beat 7/1 with one rubber uncompleted. Ian Aherne/Jo Berry won the solitary rubber for the losers in this match with Neil Hodges/Jane Halls taking a maximum for the winners complimented by two rubbers each from Stuart Cheng/Sara Haddow and Ian Shoard/Ruth Cairns. Greg Sudell and Alison Rendall won their three rubbers for Phoenix A in their 6/3 defeat by Viking C. Each of the three winning pairs, Stuart Cheng/Ruth Cairns, Neil Hodges/Diane Cooper and Vince Yong/Emma Day won two rubbers. These victories leave Viking C with an early lead in the division, some 7 points ahead of nearest rivals Waverley A. Beechdown D had their first win in Division 4 when beating Phoenix B 7/2 at Sherfield School. Bob Cosgrove/Wendy Mason and Tim Pink/Sam Taylor won one rubber each for the home side with Bruce Scott/Sue Nolan and Chris Meeking/Leanne Francis both winning maxima for Beechdown D complimented by one rubber from Lee Chojecki/Sara Grant.
