Ladies Matches 11/03/08 With a 4/2 victory over Andover at Andover BH Pegasus ladies in the Ladies Division of 4 are the first side to complete their programme. Kim Street and Sally Holmes took part in three winning partnerships each while Doreen Quilter and Nicky Major each took part in one.  This victory confirms their place at the top of the table. Each of the home ladies, Sue Clarke, Karen Causley, Louise Phillips and Sophie Rippon took part in one successful rubber. 

LoddonSherpas Ladies in the Ladies Division of 6 have altered the table by finally reporting three home matches.  Two of these were defeats and one a victory.  The first defeat was 6/3 by Beechdown back in November where sisters Stephanie/Cheryl Matthews won the three home rubbers and each of the visiting pairs, Hayley Kopp/Kate Appleton, Sandra Smith/Karen Southwell and Andrea Hill/Tracy King won two rubbers.  The second defeat was more recent when they went down 5/4 to Viking.  Again the two sisters won their three rubbers complimented by one from Sue Evans/Becky Hall.  Alison Crawford/Sophia Rapacioli and Diane Cooper/Juliet MacAskill both won two rubbers for Viking with Emma Day/Julie Shawley getting the vital fifth.  Early in January, Stephanie/Cheryl Matthews, Sue Evans/Becky Hall and Liz Firth/Jane Vickers comprised the LoddonSherpas side which beat Phoenix 9/0 at the Sports Centre.


Mens Matches 11/03/08    Father and son Carlo/Milo Rapacioli won three of the visitor’s rubbers when Viking B beat Andover Sports A at Andover in Mens Division 1.  Neil Hodges/Simon Williamson won the other two.  Shaun McDonald/Emerson Cumberbatch won two rubbers for the home side with Andy Kinge/Chris Clarke and Tim Hunt/Paul Williams contributing one each.  

Dave Sneddon and Alan Dixon won the two rubbers for Andover when with only a two pair team they lost 7/2 to BH Pegasus C at the Basingstoke Sports Centre in Division 2.Steve Glover/James Skilton won two rubbers for the home side supplemented by one each from Chris Pearson/Mark Chapple and Jon Brooks/Steve Harrison.  

Aldermaston still dominate Division 3 following a 7/2 win against Alresford at Alresford.  Bob Thirkell/Ralph Pointer won the two home rubbers with David Lowe/Rod Jenkins scoring a maximum for the visitors supported by two each from Stephen Gaunt/Chris Apsey and Neil Hince/Alan McDonald. Mark Cleave/Mark Fuller were the only winners for Phoenix B when they lost 8/1 to LoddonSherpas B at Sherfield School.  Arjun Karnad/Paul Bonner and Michael Nash/James Blackman both recorded maxima for the winners complimented by the remaining two rubbers from Ricky/Mario Sewhee.


 Mixed Matches 11/03/08   Mixed Division 2 leaders Beechdown A beat LoddonSherpas A 5/4 to stay in top position in the table and are now almost sure of promotion next season.  Daniel Sheppard/Karen Southwell won their three rubbers for the winners with each of the other two pairs, Martin Webb/Hayley Kopp and Mark Bayliss/Kate Appleton securing one to complete the scoring.  Ian Young/Stephanie Matthews won two rubbers for the home side supplemented by one each from Phil Hood/ Becky Hall and Mark Gentry/Cheryl Matthews.  

Andover Sports B beat Beechdown C 8/1 in Division 3 with both Daniel Pharom/Ellen Dennett and Geriant Griffiths/Liz Jones winning maxima supported by two rubbers from Peter Hartfield/Kay Carrington.  Tim Williams and Alex Nagel scored the consolation rubbers for the home losers. 

Maxima from Peter Bevell/Christine Fowler and Colin Huntley/Sarah Fenton  helped Waverley B to claim a 8/1 win against Phoenix B at Sherfield School in Division 4.  Peter Aling/Heather Mountford scored the other two rubbers while Neil Clelland/Katie Hawkins won the solitary rubber for the losers.
