Ladies Matches 10/11/06   Each of the three Andover Sports Ladies pairs, Sandra McDonald/Pauline Prior, Liz Roberts/Sue Hartfield and Val Wheeler/Ellen Dennett won two rubbers in their 6/3 home defeat of Waverley in the Ladies 6 Division.  Debbie Symes and Caroline Rodbourne won all three of the loser’s rubbers.  BH Pegasus kept up their unbeaten run with a 7/2 home win against Phoenix with both Lesley Acheson/Hayley McCall and Anu Davies/Amanda Marsden recording maxima for them supported by one rubber from Jenny Skilton/Haylie Fox.   Stephanie Matthews/Hayley Kopp won their three rubbers for a two pair LoddonSherpas side which lost 5/4 at home to Beechdown.  Liz Firth/Becky Hall won the other rubber.  Sandra Smith/Katie Appleton and Andrea Hill/Madge Cummings each won one rubber for the victors.


Mens Matches 10/11/06 In a critical early clash in Mens Division 1, BH Pegasus A beat visiting Beechdown A 8/1 at the Sports Centre.   Martin Webb and Daniel Sheppard were the winners of the solitary rubber for the losers who were without their stalwart Neil Marie on this occasion.   David Burrell/Martin Davey and David Gough/Prasanth Kumaran both scored maxima for the winners supported by two rubbers from Nick Harvey/Kevin Harris.   Another 8/1 victory, this time at home against BH Pegasus A, has given Viking A a lead of 3 points in the division.  David Gough and Prasanth Kumaran won the only rubber for the losers with both Richard Whatley/Graeme berry and Tim Cooper/Mike Fidge getting maxima for Viking A.  Tony Coombes and Chris Powell supplied the remaining two rubbers.  Elsewhere in the division Beechdown A beat visiting Viking B 5/4.  Daniel Sheppard/Mark Bayliss won their three rubbers for the winning home side complimented by two from Martin Webb/Paul Deed.  Simon Williamson/Ian Shoard won two rubbers for Viking B with Carlo Rapacioli/Stuart Cheng and Graeme Berry/Neil Hodges winning one each to complete the scoring. 

Andover’s Mark Holden/Dave Sneddon, Steve Trussell/Chris Woodgate and Geoff Lewis/Alan Dixon proved too strong for LoddonSherpas A beating them 9/0 at Andover in Division 2. .LoddonSherpas A then got back to winning ways with an 8/1 home win against Andover Sports B for whom Geriant Griffiths/Paul Williams were the only winners.  Ian Young/Matthew Frost and Phil Hood/Mark Gentry won their three rubbers for LoddonSherpas A with Richard Burt/Mitchell Hockley chipping in with the other two. In a time constrained match at Aldermaston. The home side beat Hurst 5/3.  David Lowe/Rod Jenkins and Ben Coapes/Lawrence Sutton each won two rubbers for the winners and Neil Hince/Graham Page supplied the fifth.  The three Hurst rubbers, all three setters, were won by David Ord/Mark Payne   BH Pegasus B made it three wins in a row with a 8/1 victory over Andover at the Sports Centre where Chris Woodgate/Simon Collins were the only winners for the visitors.  Steve Glover/Dale Turpin and Martin Hill/Andrew Hart both recorded maxima for the home side supported by two rubbers from Alex Groom/Andrew Bosworth. 

Despite a maximum from Bob Thirkwell/Adrian Tyrell Alresford lost 5/4 at home to Beechdown B in Division 3.  Nigel Butcher/Ted Dowson got their other rubber.  Neil Marie/Tim Jefferies and Martin Webb/Lee Chojecki won two rubbers each fro the victorious visitors with Chris Meeking/Keith Dawson supplying the vital fifth.  Later Alresford reversed the score when with only two pairs they beat Phoenix B at Sherfield School.  On this occasion Bob Thirkwell/Adrian Tyrell won a maximum for them with Nigel Butcher/Ted Dowson getting the other two rubbers.  Bob Cosgrove and Matthew Savastano obtained the only rubber won by the home side.  


Mixed Matches 10/11/06  BH Pegasus Mixed B are setting an early pace having had two successive 9/0 victories in Division 2.  Having beaten their C side in their opening match they followed this up with a clean sweep against visiting Beechdown B. Martin Davey/Lesley Acheson, Kevin Harris/Doreen Quilter and Andrew Hart/Hayley McCall were the victorious team in this second match.  The following evening their C side had a narrow 5/4 win over Aldermaston A at Aldermaston in the same division.  Andrew Hart/Hayley McCall set up the victory by taking their three rubbers supported by one each from Dale Turpin/Jean Deverill and Alex Groom/Hayley Fox.  Keith Fleming/Hannah Ward won two rubbers for the losing home team as did Rod Jenkins/Julie Ward. 

Waverley A beat Aldermaston B 7/2 in Division 3 to maintain their unbeaten run.   Adam Bridgen/Linda Rapacioli won a maximum for them in this victory supported by two rubbers each from Colin Huntley/Debbie Symes and Rob Jackson/Gill Trimmer.  Neil Hince/Sally Jenkins and Paul Roper/Sue Richardson secured one rubber each for the losing visitors.

In Division 4, Phoenix B suffered three successive defeats.  The first was at the hands of Waverley B who beat them 7/2 and then later Andover beat them 6/3 at Andover  In the match against Waverley B Milo Rapacioli/Heather Mountford and Rob Jackson/Gill trimmer both recorded maxima for the winners complimented by one rubber from Kevin Caldicott/Kuki Lota.  Matthew Hawkins/Wendy Mason and Tim Pink/Sam Taylor won one rubber each for the losing visitors.  Tim Pink/Sam Taylor won two rubbers when they played Andover in the second match with Bob Cosgrove/Wendy Mason obtaining the third.  Alan Dixon/Karen Causley won their three rubbers for the victorious Andover team supported by two from Chris Neve/Sue Clarke and one from Stuart Collins/Laura Thomas. Later they went down 5/4 to a two pair Basing Cavaliers team at Sherfield School. Bob Cosgrove and Wendy Mason won their only rubbers while Andrew Dance/Sheila Weston secured a maximum for the Cavaliers and Dave Harfield/Linda Russell got the other two.   Earlier Basing Cavaliers had their first win when they beat Beechdown D 6/2 at the Vyne School.  Steve Gaunt/Linda Childs won a maximum for the Cavaliers complimented by two rubbers from Andrew Dance/Sheila Weston and one from Dave Harfield/Linda Russell.  Bruce Scott/Sue Nolan won one rubber for Beechdown D as did Tim Jefferies/Leanne Frances.
