Knock-Out Cup 01/03/07  The holders St Marys will play Viking, recent winners over Andover Sports in one semi-final while BH Pegasus face Aldermaston in the second semi.  Aldermaston reached this stage following a walk-over from LoddonSherpas.  These matches, the final and a third/fourth place playoff will take place at the Sports Centre on Sunday 25th March. 


Ladies Matches 01/03/07    Andrea Hill and Ruth Seward set up the 6/3 away victory for Beechdown against Viking in the Ladies 6 Division by winning all their three rubbers.  Karen Southwell/Sandra Smith won another two rubbers with Sara Deed/Leanne Francis getting the sixth.  Jane Halls and Alison Crawford won two of the loser’s rubbers complimented by one from Julie Shawley/Emma Day. The following night, in the Ladies 4 Division, Viking avenged this defeat by winning 5/1 at Winchester Road.  Juliet MacAskill and Jane Halls took part in three winning partnerships for Viking with Sara Haddow and Emma Day participating in two.  Sandra Smith/Leanne Francis won the solitary rubber for the home side. BH Pegasus improved their lead in the table when beating a two pair Andover Sports team 7/2 at the Sports Centre.  Lesley Acheson/Hayley McCall and Amanda Marsden/Anu Davies both won two rubbers for the winners while each of the visiting pairs, Pauline Prior/Ellen Dennett and Sue Hartfield/Liz Roberts won one rubber.


Mens Matches 01/03/07  A 5/4 home win against Viking B in Mens Division 1 has placed Andover Sports A at the top of the table for the moment.  They have a 6 points lead over nearest rivals Viking A who have two matches in hand.  Ian Swatton/Chris Clarke and Damien Roberts/Tim Hunt both won two rubbers for the Andover side supplemented by one from Peter Cowmeadow/Emerson Cumberbatch.  Graeme Berry/Scott Wilkins won a maximum for the losing visitors with Stuart Cheng/Carlo Rapacioli getting the fourth.  

A 5/4 away win over Phoenix A in Division 2 was sufficient to keep LoddonSherpas A in first place in the table, just 5 points ahead of BH Pegasus B who have a match in hand.  Three of the home rubbers were won by Greg Sudell/Jon Thomson with the fourth coming from Matthew Hawkins/Peter Bevel.  Phil Hood and Mark Gentry won all their rubbers for LoddonSherpas A and Ian Young/Matthew Frost got the other two.

Maxima from Ian Aherne/Adam Bridgen and Rob Jackson/Milo Rapacioli helped Waverley to a 6/3 win against Beechdown B at Winchester Road in Division 3.  Chris Meeking/Keith Dawson, Bruce Scott/Simon Johnson and Lee Chojecki/Richard Bowen won a rubber each for the losers.


Mixed Matches 01/03/07    A 9/0 victory over visiting Beechdown A in Mixed Division 1 gave St Marys a giant leap in the table.  Andy King/Janine Fisher, Mark Ferguson/Margaret Mason and Gareth Jones/Andrea Farmer were the successful pairings.   BH Pegasus A beat a two pair LoddonSherpas A 8/1 at the Sports Centre in the same division to keep third place.  Ian Young and Cheryl Matthews won the solitary rubber for the losers while David Burrell/Anu Davies and David Gough/Amanda Marsden both won two rubbers for the home side.  Prasanth Kumaran/Jean Deverill won the remaining rubber for BH Pegasus A. 

Viking B also recorded a 9/0 victory in their Division 2 match against Firefly at the Hurst.  Tony Coombes/Jane Halls, Carlo Rapacioli/Ruth Seward and Chris Powell/Julie Shawley made up their team.  

A third 9/0 victory saw Waverley B defeat Phoenix B at Sherfield School in Division 4.  Milo Rapacioli/Sally Holmes, Robert Jackson/Gill Trimmer and Peter Aling/Caroline Rodbourne were the successful pairings. For the second time Beechdown D were unable to field a team to play LoddonSherpas B and had to concede the 9 points.
